Tour Rodin Museum and Garden

2 Apr

Please join PACA and the Conservation Department of the Philadelphia Museum of Art on Wednesday, 2 April from 6:30-7:30 PM for a conservation open house at the Rodin Museum (2151 Benjamin Franklin Parkway). The event is FREE for PACA members and $8 for non-members, and $5 for student non-members.

The event offers a behind-the-scenes look at the Rodin Museum after a recent multi-year effort to conserve the building and outdoor sculptures and to restore the original 1929 appearance of the museum and its garden. After opening remarks by Andrew Lins, Neubauer Family Chair of Conservation at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and Preservation Architect Nan Gutterman, attendees will tour the museum and garden, learning about treatments performed on the building and sculptures by multiple conservators who were engaged in the project.

Following the open house, PACA will meet at the Rose Tattoo Cafe (1847 Callowhill St at the corner of 19th St & Callowhill St) from 7:30-8:30 PM for the event reception. Drink tickets will be offered to attendees – one per person.

Schedule:

6:30-6:45 – Opening Remarks by Andrew Lins and Nan Gutterman

6:45-7:30 – Open House

7:30-8:30 – Reception at Rose Tattoo Cafe
