Nov. 18: Winterthur Conservation Labs and Treasures on Trial Tour

18 Nov

Join PACA at the Winterthur Museum, Garden, and Library on Saturday, November 18, for a tour of the conservation and analytical labs with the current WUDPAC graduate students. Tours of the research building will begin at 2 p.m. Your visitor’s badge will also give you access to the Museum Gallery exhibits, including Treasures on Trial: The Art and Science of Detecting Fakes. (Guided 30-minute tours of Treasures on Trial will be held at 11:30 and 1.) End the day by networking with other PACA members at the nearby Buckley’s Tavern.

Please arrive early to pick up your visitor’s badge at security dispatch on the first floor of the research building.

Please note: Yuletide tours will also open to the public on November 18, but your badge will not provide you with access to H.F. DuPont’s incredible period rooms unless you are already a Winterthur member. If you’d like to purchase tickets for a Yuletide tour, please do so ASAP. Take a house tour in the morning, have a leisurely lunch at the Visitors’ Center, stroll the grounds, and join us for the conservation lab tours at 2.

The tour of the conservation labs and galleries is free to PACA members, but any guests will need to purchase admission tickets ($22 each for adults).

Admission for the tours will be capped at 40 people. To reserve space for yourself and any guests, please email PACA with your name and the names of your guests (we’ll need a list of guests for Winterthur security). The laboratory tours are open only to adults and children 8 or older. If you will need a ride or are willing to drive others, please let us know!

See you on November 18!
